The Surface Type Cover is a slim keyboard that has moving keys. Use it to get the speed and feel of a classic keyboard and to go from tablet to laptop. Type Covers click magnetically into place and provide protection for your Surface touchscreen. Surface is my device. Surface 2 is the 'new' Surface RT, and the Pro versions are full versions of Windows 8.1. In the link you posted, at the bottom, the list of compatible devices lists the following: Surface, Surface 2, Surface Pro, and Surface Pro 2 I agree, but the full name of the Surface RT was always Surface RT, so the list is a bit odd.
Accessories Surface launched with two accessories, the Type Cover and the Touch Cover. The Touch Cover came in white, black, magenta, red and cyan, while the Type Cover came in black. Limited edition Touch. In my review of Surface RT, I chose the Type Cover, hands-down. The Touch Cover ( above ) is incredibly thin (just 3mm) and even spill-resistant. But because it relies on pressure sensors to record finger taps, and not actual keys, I found that using it resulted in way too many typing mistakes.
